Vers la fin de la photographie<\/h2>\n

Je suis tomb\u00e9 sur un article de presse dans lequel Sebastiao Salgado, c\u00e9l\u00e8bre photographe br\u00e9silien pr\u00e9disait la fin de la photographie :<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00ab\u00a0La photo, c’est bient\u00f4t fini, parce que ce qu’on voit sur les portables, ce n’est pas de la photo. La photographie doit se mat\u00e9rialiser, il faut l’imprimer, la voir, la toucher, comme avant quand les parents faisaient les albums de photos de leurs enfants\u00a0\u00bb, argumente Salgado, dont le nom signifie \u00ab\u00a0sal\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, en portugais.<\/em><\/div>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Nous sommes entr\u00e9s dans un processus d’\u00e9limination de la photographie. Aujourd’hui, nous avons des images, pas de photos\u00a0\u00bb, insiste cet autodidacte qui a fait des \u00e9tudes d’\u00e9conomie avant de se lancer dans la carri\u00e8re artistique.<\/em><\/p>\n

A l’heure du num\u00e9rique, des r\u00e9seaux sociaux et des banques d’images, jamais nous n’avons \u00e9t\u00e9 abreuv\u00e9s d’autant d’images.  Les propos du photographe br\u00e9silien pourrait donc sembler paradoxales. Pourtant, comme le dit Salgado, il ne faut pas confondre images et photographies. Une photographie, c’est bien plus qu’une image. <\/p>\n

Changer d’approche<\/h2>\n

J’ai longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 frustr\u00e9 de ma pratique de la photo. Entasser des tas de fichier sur son ordinateur, les partager sur flickr ou 500px en esp\u00e9rant que certains commenteront telle ou telle image…<\/p>\n

J’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de repenser totalement mon approche de la photographie. L’id\u00e9e est donc de d\u00e9velopper beaucoup plus syst\u00e9matiquement ses photos. C’est revenir en quelque sorte un peu \u00e0 l’heure de l’argentique ou le tirage en chambre noire \u00e9tait un peu le juge supr\u00eame de son travail. Le prix des pellicules obligeaient aussi \u00e0 faire attention \u00e0 ses prises de vue.<\/p>\n

Les r\u00e8gles de base de la \u00ab\u00a0slow photography\u00a0\u00bb<\/h2>\n

J’ai donc \u00e9tabli  un certain nombre de r\u00e8gles que je m’efforce de suivre :<\/p>\n

R\u00e8gle N\u00b01 :<\/strong> Chaque photographie doit s’ins\u00e9rer dans une s\u00e9rie (plus ou moins longue) pour donner un sens \u00e0 son  travail. Je crois que c’est l\u00e0 la base pour vraiment s’\u00e9panouir dans la pratique de la photographie.<\/p>\n

R\u00e8gle N\u00b02 :<\/strong> Lors de la prise de vue, limiter autant que possible le nombre des clich\u00e9s en r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissant plus sur le r\u00e9sultat souhait\u00e9 et comment on cherche \u00e0 l’obtenir. R\u00e9fl\u00e9chir un peu plus \u00e0 la prise de vue ne pourra que faire progresser. Evidemment, il ne s’agit pas de se passer d’un des grands avantages de la photo num\u00e9rique. Celui de pouvoir faire une infinit\u00e9 de clich\u00e9. L’un des principes de la slow photography est de prendre le temps de s’impr\u00e9gner de l’ambiance de lieu, d’attendre les conditions propice pour faire LA photo.<\/p>\n

R\u00e8gle N\u00b03 :<\/strong> Choisir les photos qu’on souhaite conserver et les traiter en vu d’un tirage sur papier. On essayera de faire attention au calibrage de l’\u00e9cran et \u00e0 la prise en compte des profils d’impression. L\u00e0 encore, l’attention donn\u00e9 \u00e0 son travail ne pourra que valoriser le r\u00e9sultat et vous valoriser votre approche de la photo.<\/p>\n

R\u00e8gle N\u00b04 :<\/strong> Donner vie \u00e0 ses photos. Tirage classique, fineart, livre photo… Peu importe le support. L’important, c’est de mat\u00e9rialiser l’image, bref de la transformer en photographie.<\/p>\n
