Les sir\u00e8nes (Albert Samain)<\/h1>\n

Les Sir\u00e8nes chantaient… L\u00e0-bas, vers les \u00eelots,
\nUne harpe d’amour soupirait, infinie ;
\nLes flots voluptueux ruisselaient d’harmonie
\nEt des larmes montaient aux yeux des matelots.<\/p>\n

Les Sir\u00e8nes chantaient… L\u00e0-bas, vers les rochers,
\nUne haleine de fleurs alanguissait les voiles ;
\nEt le ciel refl\u00e9t\u00e9 dans les flots pleins d’\u00e9toiles
\nVersait tout son azur en l’\u00e2me des nochers,<\/p>\n

Les Sir\u00e8nes chantaient… Plus tendres \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent,
\nLeurs voix d’amour pleuraient des larmes dans la brise,
\nEt c’\u00e9tait une extase o\u00f9 le coeur plein se brise,
\nComme un fruit m\u00fbr qui s’ouvre au soir d’un jour pesant !<\/p>\n

Nymphe du L\u00e9man<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

Vers les lointains, fleuris de jardins vaporeux,
\nLe vaisseau s’en allait, envelopp\u00e9 de r\u00eaves ;
\nEt l\u00e0-bas – visions – sur l’or p\u00e2le des gr\u00e8ves
\nOndulaient vaguement des torses amoureux.<\/p>\n

Diaphanes blancheurs dans la nuit \u00e9mergeant,
\nLes Sir\u00e8nes venaient, lentes, tordant leurs queues
\nSouples, et sous la lune, au long des vagues bleues,
\nRoulaient et d\u00e9roulaient leurs volutes d’argent.<\/p>\n

Les nacres de leurs chairs sous un liquide \u00e9mail
\nChatoyaient, ruisselant de perles cristallines,
\nEt leurs seins nus, cambrant leurs rondeurs opalines,
\nTendaient lascivement des pointes de corail.<\/p>\n

Leurs bras nus suppliants s’ouvraient, immacul\u00e9s ;
\nLeurs cheveux blonds flottaient, emm\u00eal\u00e9s d’algues vertes,
\nEt, le col renvers\u00e9, les narines ouvertes,
\nElles offraient le ciel dans leurs yeux \u00e9toil\u00e9s !…<\/p>\n

Des lyres se mouraient dans l’air harmonieux ;
\nSupr\u00eame, une langueur s’exhalait des calices,
\nEt les marins p\u00e2m\u00e9s sentaient, lentes d\u00e9lices,
\nDes velours de baisers se poser sur leurs yeux…<\/p>\n

Jusqu’au bout, aux mortels condamn\u00e9s par le sort,
\nChoeur fatal et divin, elles faisaient cort\u00e8ge ;
\nEt, doucement captif entre leurs bras de neige,
\nLe vaisseau descendait, radieux, dans la mort !<\/p>\n

La nuit ti\u00e8de embaumait…L\u00e0-bas, vers les \u00eelots,
\nUne harpe d’amour soupirait, infinie ;
\nEt la mer, d\u00e9roulant ses vagues d’harmonie,
\n\u00c9tendait son linceul bleu sur les matelots.<\/p>\n

Les Sir\u00e8nes chantaient… Mais le temps est pass\u00e9
\nDes beaux tr\u00e9pas cueillis en les Syrtes sereines,
\nO\u00f9 l’on pouvait mourir aux l\u00e8vres des Sir\u00e8nes,
\nEt pour jamais dormir sur son r\u00eave enlac\u00e9.<\/p>\n
